WAKEUP is a global movement that seeks to break both visible and invisible barriers, bringing communities together through shared artistic, cultural, and human experiences.
We collaborate with emerging artists and organise festivals and events in the form of music performances, round table discussions, dance shows and cinema screenings to address and reflect on the themes of migration, solidarity, resistance and exile .
As a platform, we provide exiled artists with a space to perform and share their stories, while fostering lasting connections. Collaborative by nature, we partner with communities, associations, artists, activists, and individuals to create together. Founded in 2018 and now a Geneva based association, WAKEUP strives to embody the qualities for which Geneva is best known: its global reach and resonance, its neutrality, its collaborative spirit, and its international community.

Born in Barcelona from a desire to create a different world, we recognized the need to bring communities together and challenge stereotypes about people from countries affected by conflict. We realized that creating space for people to share their stories was essential.
WAKEUP is grounded in fundamental values that we believe every individual holds — though in some, they may lie dormant, which is why we speak of the need to "wake up." These values include love, solidarity, equality, respect, and equity.
Our first action was to raise awareness about Palestine through four days of non-stop events across the city of Barcelona in 2018, in collaboration with the Palestinian group Al-Raseef. That’s where the magic happened. We witnessed the power of music to bring people together — from elderly residents in care homes to university students — suddenly, people were awake and engaged.
The rest is history. Today, WAKEUP is a movement that has grown from Spain to Switzerland, connecting local communities and exiled artists, and uniting society through art, culture, and storytelling. We are deeply honored to partner with artists from around the world and grateful for the trust they place in us to co-create these events.n text goes here
